Screwed Mind - An Espionage Thriller: The International Mystery of the Mossad and Other Intelligence Agencies

With continuous advances in technology, many have pointed to the demise of the espionage thriller novel. Luckily, there are still authors that are willing to tackle the topic, because people love them, but does it take a reader willing to suspend disbelief of reality to enjoy a modern-day spy novel, or an author with enough creativity to figure out a way it can be done realistically?

Traditionally, espionage novels had a main character who was in the practice of spying, employed by governments or special espionage agencies. They use a variety of techniques, including eavesdropping, undercover work, surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance, and in the past they impressed users with their arsenal of futuristic tools that helped them gather information on their foes.

Your typical thriller features a tough and resourceful protagonist that woks to undermine the antagonist that is out to destroy the spy, their organization or country, or even the whole world. Thrillers have an intense time-sensitive plot, which is dependent on the spy being able to avoid or escape traps and find and neutralize the bad guy before their evil plot succeeds.

The espionage thriller work best when the protagonist is unknown, so they can infiltrate the threatening organization, but is it even possible for someone to be unknown spy today? In the world we live in now everyone leaves a digital fingerprint, and if they have one wiped clean it would be a red flag for any organization recruiting someone. This is everything from online banking to telephone records, social media pages, and LinkedIn network contacts. These are just some of the challenges that authors face when crafting a believable spy story for readers of the 21st century.

Dancing the Salsa: Stepping towards the Rhythm

Since the times of antiquity, dancing has been considered as a non-verbal way of communication. Often participatory, its ceremonial flavor has evolved into a more aesthetic and artistic twang. With this in mind, it bestows the dancers a duty to make the art appealing to the audience. But how can this be done? How could they seduce their viewers into a hearty round of applause?

Behind our minds we know the rhetorical answer to this somewhat helpless question. Even though the facts often make us feel like the character played by Sidney Poitier in A Raisin in the Sun where he say “I want to fly!” and then his wife approaches him and says “First eat your eggs.” All we want is to fly, to dance! We care very little about the eggs, the basics.

Just like any other task which involves skill, practice and a firm foundation holds the key to the highest levels of learning, especially in salsa. A dancer should have a secure understanding of the basics like the arm tension, change of weight, and basic footwork. The better a dancer understands these things, the faster will his progress be in improving his dancing. Another important aspect when dancing is measuring your partner, again the basic moves are used to gauge how difficult a routine you can pull off together and adjusting your lead from there.

Never forget that salsa is all about the lady. The image that has to be seared in their minds is that the lady is the ‘picture’ and the man is the ‘frame’. The dance delights the viewers through their elegance, sexiness and lightheartedness. And this along with styling comes once the basic routines has been achieved.

On the internet you will encounter a number of books and tutorials to get you started in learning how to dance. But one that stands out is Salsa Bootcamp – Insiders Secrets to Salsa Dance. It provides you with the secrets on learning how to dance salsa while enjoying the experience at the same time. It provides a quicker learning curve which keeps your enthusiasm always up. Get the most from your lessons and social dancing as you walk through the mysteries of the salsa superstars. Remember that the most important thing is to have fun and this is where salsa begins and ends. Well what are you waiting for, put on those dancing shoes and start to feel the salsa beat!

Kindle Book - "Amazon Kindle Kindles a Fire of Creativity" Self Published Author Describes His Success Story

Amazon.com is offering "Amazon Kindle Kindles a Fire of Creativity" for FREE  at Kindle Stores in United States and United Kingdom, Kindle-shop in Germany, Boutique Kindle in France, Tienda Kindle at Amazon Español and Kindle store in Italy.

In "Amazon Kindle Kindles a fire of creativity", which is at top sales rank in its category at the time of this writing, the author describes how he was inspired by Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing to self publish his stories and his initial success. This book which is written in a humorous style can be downloaded for Free for next 12 hours at Amazon.com.

The latest edition of Kindle (tm), dubbed Kindle Fire is an hybrid eBook and entertainment device rolled in one. Kindle Fire was one of the coolest, most sort after high-tech Christmas gift. Most people look at Kindle(tm) as a device which had simplified reading books, listening to music and with Kindle Fire(tm), watching videos.

But one of the benefit which is frequently overlooked is how Kindle has eliminated the middlemen in the publishing process - Thanks to Kindle Direct Publishing - a gifted author can directly upload a manuscript using Kindle Publishing and voila, a new book is available to readers. By simplifying the publishing process and bringing it to reach of the average user, Amazon Kindle (tm) has revolutionized the process of publishing.

Here is an excerpt from this eBook:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With self-publishing, I get to choose when my books get published. Heck, in ebook format, I even get to choose when it gets republished, in revised format. Amid all this talk about self-published books being poorly edited, the ebook platform actually allows books to be better edited, because they can be modified after the readers (not the editors) have given their feedback.

I get to choose, too, how my books get marketed. Oh yes, contrary to what some writers may think, once you get your book published, you can’t just leave it to fare for itself in the big wide wonderful world. No, you need to help it out, market it, through blog posts, SEO, promotions, etc. It’s just something you gotta learn to do.

By combining Internet marketing with self-publishing, I was able to get my ebook to best-selling status in its category and at the top of the "Hot New Releases" list within a few weeks. As you can see below in the Amazon KDP screen shot, 5,355 copies of my ebook "Inside the Giant Machine: Confessions of aFormer Amazon.com Technologist" were downloaded in the last week of January alone. (Net includes adjustment for any returns.)

My second best-selling ebook, "The Inferno: An Eyewitness Account of San Diego on Fire," was downloaded a net of 1,670 times in that week.

And the above sales are just at the US Kindle Store. Several hundred copies of the English edition were also sold at Kindle Store in UK, and of the German translation  “Im Inneren der Gigantischen Maschine: Eine Amazon.com Story,” at the Kindle-Shop at Amazon.de.

Featured Kindle Erotic Romance: Lips, Hips and Fingertips by Jan Lowery

As a mommy, most of my days are spent making meals, cleaning up messes and addressing the needs of my family. After my day is over, I just want to lose myself with a good book and a glass of wine. I love to power up my Kindle and get lost in a book. I found that I love to read Kindle erotica, as it removes me from my daily life and transports me into a world of sensuality and temptation.

While some may make fun of me for reading mommy porn, I don’t mind. I know what I am reading is making me feel as if I am character in the book. One recent Kindle erotica piece that I read was called Lips, Hips and Fingertips by Jan Lowery. This book is about a woman in love, well passionate infatuation, with two men. These two men both please her physically, and she is happily bedding both men.

Unfortunately, even with passionate connection to both men, no triangle can last forever. Raye, the lead character, must decide whom her heart actually belongs to. This book isn’t just mommy porn, but also a traditional romance novel. Every woman knows what it feels to like be wooed and chased. Two men are chasing Raye, and she is stuck in this triangle-not knowing whom to pick.

This book will not only transport you into a world of sex and temptation, it will also make your heart swell. There are very tender romantic moments, mixed amongst the hot and steamy scenes. This book is a wonderful addition to the Kindle erotica world.

Love and the 5 Year Plan, However Love Is Not Logical

You have worked hard all your life—got into a good university, paid your dues and worked your way up the corporate ladder or in a field in which you are passionate about.  You have supportive family and friends and an active social and dating life.  You are finally at a place where you are building a solid foundation for the life you desire—the husband, wife, home, and kids.

While you are out there in the dating world, you may not be ready for the “happily ever after” yet so you create a 5 year plan to make to pay off your student loans, safe for a down payment on your dream home, and achieve a bit more professional success—then you will be ready for love—the only problem is that love in not logical.

When you meet the person—the one who makes your head spin, your knees weak, and your heart race every time they walk in the room, your sturdy 5 year plan may need to be reworked.  This is a common struggle, especially when our head hasn’t come to terms with the place are heart is in; even more so if the one who has swept you off your feet, is not the one you expected you would end up with.

There is a difference between lust and love, but sometimes you find both in the same person.  While this kind of powerful connection can take you by surprise, its undeniable electricity can’t be ignored.

Whether you like it or not, or it is in your 5 year plan or not, love is not logical and can take you by surprise at a moment’s notice.  When love sneaks up in the most unexpected of places you have to determine whether it is a risk worth taking.  Is it worth letting the electricity you feel for someone pass you by because the “time” is not right?  Or because they aren’t who you “see” yourself with?  Is it better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all?  Will you have regrets if you don’t even try?

These are all difficult questions to answer—all of which are explored in the latest novel by author Ju Ephraime “A Wonderful Pieceof Dark Mahogany”.  In this book tells the tale of Melissa and Craig, two successful individuals who had a plan for the next few years of their lives—that is until their paths crossed taking them down an unexpected path of love, passion, and jealousy.

Publisher Denies Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are the Real Voice behind the Pen Name “The Holy Ghost Writer”

The mystery of the author of the three successful books by Holy Ghost Writer remains unsolved.

San Francisco, CA — Illuminated Publications, the publisher of these and other books authored by “Holy Ghost Writer” has issued an official statement denying the famous couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not the “Holy Ghost Writer”, trying to put to rest to growing speculation that the husband / wife team were the real faces behind the “Holy Ghost Writer” - author of several bestselling books such as “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” and “That Girl Started Her Own Country”.

While this official clarification should put rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to rest, it re-opens the mystery behind who is the real person behind the intriguing pen name. The Holy Ghost Writer has been compared to several famous authors for his works. He has been heralded as the new Stieg Larrson for “That Girl Started Her Own Country”, the successor of Alexander Dumas for “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” and the next Ray Bradbury for “The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter”.

Each of these books are said to have clues that will point you to the identity of the true author, but more than a year after the first release the identity still alludes the masses.

While the ongoing mystery of the true identity of the Holy Ghost Writer is still waiting to be solved the undisputable fact remains—the literature is a true act of literary genius.  Each book in this series has received critical acclaim.

For added mystery, the books in the series have not been released in chronological order.  The first two books published in the series “The Count of Monte Cristo” and “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” are set in the past; but these two were followed by the 6th book in the series “The Girl Who Started Her Own Country” set in present day, and the next one published is the 11th book in the series “The Boy Who Played With Dark Matter” set in year 2099. It’s like the author is uncovering the pieces of a giant puzzle in random order.

While the clarification of Illuminated Publications should put rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to be the real face of Holy Ghost Writer to rest, it re-opens the mystery behind who is the real person behind the mysterious author. As for all the writer’s followers and fans, reading through his books and piecing together the clues that he has left behind is all that can be done for now.

Does the Circle of Life Only Apply To Wildlife?

When we talk about animals that live in the wild we often talk about the circle of life and how each animal lives in a habitat they were designed specifically to thrive in.  For example you would not find a lion at the North Pole or a Polar Bear in the jungle.

I am sure you have heard stories of animals in the wild that learn to adapt to their changing habitats to survive or become endangered species because they are not able to find a way to adapt to the changes in today’s world—survival of the fittest.

For humans it is far easier for us to adapt to different environments from one continent to the next.  However what began as simple advances to make our environments easier to adapt to has turned into a never-ending need for comfort and luxury.  However, the lifestyles and habits that epitomize ultimate luxury and comfort come at a high financial cost, and more importantly a high natural resource cost.

To make more room for the rapidly expanding population we cut down our forests, to grow less expensive produce we over process our crops and ruin our soil, to power our factories we emit harmful toxins into the air, and for convenience we dump waste into our bodies of water contaminating it to the extent that we are killing sea life.

Most human beings seem to fully comprehend (if not feel compassion) for animals that go extinct or that are struggling to survive in their deteriorating natural habitats, but too many of us are not able to draw the link to what we have in common with these struggling animals—humans will all too soon be struggling along with wildlife.

The modern need for comfort and luxury has us destroying irreplaceable natural resources that supply us with our basic needs—air, water, and food.  As we continue to take from Mother Earth for our luxury and convenience we further destroy the habitats of wildlife.  As these unnatural habitats continue to decline we continue to throw the circle of life off balance.

It is easy to think of animals going extinct but as we continue to destroy nature the animals that will be struggling to survive won’t be wildlife but walking, talking, and thinking mammals—human beings.

To explore our connection to nature and to challenge your thought process of “want vs. need” you can read the beautifully depicted fictional tale My Green Friend Amay.  This is the first in a four part series that provides readers with a poignant and thought provoking story delivered in a relaxed and charming manner.  While the principals within this series are quite deep they are unveiled in the pages of the story of a young girl named Dawna who grew up in a world quite different from the one we live in today.

Does Everything Really Happen For A Reason?

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”  Marilyn Monroe

Everything happens for a reason.”  This phrase is often used as motivation to inspire us to keep moving forward in challenging times or to celebrate leaving behind a trying time.  There are times in our life where we can clearly look back at the simple ripple that sparked an ocean of change that has lead us to a more positive place—even the ripples that began from a negative encounter.

Maybe the unhealthy relationship you were in promoted you to move for the job in a new city where you met the love of your life.  Or maybe the patience you developed growing up with your sister with the excessive need for attention gave you the skillset to require for professional patience.

Sometimes we are clearly able to see how negative and frustrating circumstances created a chain of events that lead to a positive outcome, but sometimes the negativity doesn’t seem to be connected to anything more than more negativity.

How is there value in growing up with parents that have an abusive relationship?  How did growing up in a single parent home benefit you?  Wouldn’t you have a happier life if you didn’t feel like your parents favored your brother more than you?

We can’t change someone else, but we can change how we respond to the negative people in our lives and we can change the direction we take our lives.  If you are ready to let go and change the things you can the book “Branches From the Same Tree WhetherBroken or Reaching” is the perfect place to start.

The Many Forms of Bravery

Bravery is an often romanticized idea in modern media. It is almost always a topic in books, television shows and movies. It also defines people in their real life experiences, as it shows your ideals and beliefs.

However, it is also often underestimated and unappreciated – both in media and in real life. This is probably because people don’t realize it at first glance because of its many forms.

The forms of bravery are as follows:

  • ·         Physical bravery. This is the kind of bravery that is most often depicted in stories – and in some cases, the only form that’s appreciated. It takes physical bravery to stand up to others who are bigger and stronger than you, just as how David stood up against Goliath.
  • ·         Intellectual bravery. This is the kind of bravery that relies not on the strength of muscles, but on the strength of reasoning. It takes intellectual bravery to believe on your intellect even when everyone else thinks otherwise, just as how Galileo believed that the Earth revolved around the sun.
  • ·         Social bravery. This is the kind of bravery that tests your beliefs and leadership at the risk of social rejection. It takes social bravery to believe in a way of life with your whole self, just as how Mahatma Gandhi believed in non-violence towards independence.
  • ·         Moral bravery. This is the kind of bravery that allows you to keep doing the right thing even when it is very difficult to do so. It takes moral bravery to help others no matter what the situation and consequences, just as how Mother Teresa helped the poor.

The book “Counting Coup: The Odyssey Of Captain Tom Adams” by Bob Stockton is a story of a journey to uncover and understand a figure in American history that is often associated with bravery – legendary trapper and scout Kit Carson of the old Wild West.

Counting Coup: The Odyssey Of Captain Tom Adams” by Bob Stockton is currently available in Kindle format at Amazon.com. Click on the link to preview the book or download your own copy.

The Thrill of the Spider’s Dance

Environmental disasters have always been the worst kind of catastrophe: The environment gets destroyed, the people suffer, companies lose millions upon millions, and the government is forced to extend a lot of resources to have the disaster neutralized.

But what if an environmental disaster is actually part of a deliberate scheme? What if someone intends to gain from such a horrific tragedy?

Spider’s Dance,” by Will Graham, is a fast-paced thriller that features the orchestration of an environmental disaster for personal gain.

Nicholas White, the protagonist and a computer security and forensics consultant, is sent by his company to investigate an oil rig that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. What is deemed to be the worst environmental disaster of the millennium becomes several shades darker when White notices patterns that suggest that the explosion of the oil rig was not unplanned.

White is then thrust into a complex web of deceit and death as he unravels a mystery that dates back to the Holocaust, back to World War II.

The story, though very suspenseful, is also filled with wit and humor that is tirelessly incorporated into every chapter. White and all the characters jump out of the page, pulling you into this masterful thriller.

The fear that you experience while reading the book feels so real, and that’s probably because you know, as with other real-world thrillers, that such a scenario could actually happen. Graham blurs the line of fact and fiction with his impeccable writing that keeps readers completely immersed and involved in the challenges White goes through and all the forbidden knowledge he uncovers.

“Spider’s Dance” makes you ask how far things can be taken in the grand scheme of the world. Amidst the complicated world of oil and in the memorable but painful history of World War II, Graham shows you how far – and how deep.

Spider's Dance” is currently available in Kindle format at Amazon.com. Click on the link to preview the book or download your own copy.

The Beauty of Modern Conversation

Fraser Sinclair’s New York Exchange: The Parachutes in Between is an insightful look into the lives and minds of two endearing individuals as they go on with their daily lives. The book uses a familiar style - telling the story through communications between the characters - but Sinclair does it with a unique blend of humor and mystery that keeps its readers looking forward to what's next in the messages between George and Lauren.

This book illustrates how readers can still appreciate a well-crafted story that’s brought to life by well-imagined characters. New York Exchange: The Parachutes in Between is a light read that shows just how beautiful modern conversation can be.

A Good Kindle Short Thriller Such as "Getting Gone" Is Like an Espresso

A Kindle "Short" is a new emerging trend made possible by the digital ebook revolution. A growing number of authors have chosen to express their creativity by publishing short books - equivalent to 40 to 100 printed pages. This trend span across  an genres and include essays, memoirs, narratives, and short fiction.
I like Kindle "shorts" - For me to enjoy a good quality book, it does not need to be a million words. They are the Espresso of the book world, full punch of a coffee cup packed in 2 oz.
"Getting Gone" is such a book. A thriller I could enjoy in two sittings - a ride to San Francisco and back on the train.   In this gripping "revenge of the nerd" story, an ex-CIA operative foresees her possible death at hands of rogue spies and leaves enough clues for her autistic genius inventor husband to avenge her death.  And this communication from the dead is not done using any super secret classified encryption, but  use of everyday technology.

Loved the book. You can download this inexpensive, gripping short thriller for $0.99  (£0.77 in UK) at Amazon.com, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and other Kindle Stores.
