Intriguing Kindle Book Describes a Place where Bizarre is Normal

In the small state of Maine on the North-eastern coast of United States, hidden in a nondescript residential street there is a house where bizarre is normal. This is the stage where the drama in “The Monsterjunkies, An American Family Odyssey” is played out.
The main characters of this story are the 12 year old  boy Cromwell or Crow, and a 14 year old girl Indigo. The two siblings together manage bullying and emotional abuse in their unique way combing smarts and emotional quotient.
The Monsterjunkie estate and the family is unusual in many ways and it’s inhabitants seeks privacy making it difficult for children to have a normal life and do things other kids take for granted like having friends over.  They face ignorance combined with aggression in their attempt to lead their lives in their ancestral home.
Erik Daniel Shein, author of “The Monsterjunkies, An American Family Odyssey” does a great job in providing a peek inside the secret life of a family who struggles with inheritance and science. The characters are well developed and the plot flows on smoothly. Recommended for Teens, parents, teachers and school libraries.

Re-emergence of Serial Novels, Powered by Kindle

Serial books are the perfect way to enjoy your kindle. Have you joined the Serial Novel trend? It's an old genre re-emerging into its own. For good reason. They are quick and easy to read, and addictive. Also, the eBook reader revolution is helping re-emergence of the serial books because they make the logistics of getting the next installment easy and inexpensive.

From an author's point of view, writing a Serial Novel is a great motivation to 'write,' and to engage reader so they are as committed to the journey.

Short and sweet, easy to read with a chapter ending and chapter beginning that leave you wanting
more.

Reading a serial is as good as watching a good TV series. We all just loved them. Once someone is in, she is hooked. I never want a good series to end.

I recently started reading "Crossing Lily" which is going to be like that. I agree with the reviewer "Richard" who says on his Amazon review "Maries Clair's writing continues to enthral"

Like Richard, I find Marie's ability to describe the range and intricacy of human emotions to be excellent. She truly has the a quality of writing that keeps both the story moving and the reader involved,

Here is an excerpt from "Crossing Lily" by Marie Clair

------------------------------------------------------

1919

Lily is a young woman scorned, jilted twelve days prior to her wedding to Bill. He was so much more than Lily had dared to dream. ‘I could drown in that smile, Lily. Save it just for me, love,’ Bill said.

Lily locked her newfound radiance in a secret place inside her. It was more precious than the most exquisite dress she had ever sewn, her wedding dress. She gave the key to Bill.

Ed, Lily’s husband, has one mission in life. To unpick the lock to Lily’s secret place, releasing Lily’s radiance for him. His tender love turns tough, crossing boundaries to reach her secret place.

Lily’s radiance turns dark, becoming complex, dulling her capacity to love freely. Affecting, infecting her marriage and her children, and their children’s children, subtly but surely.

Lily’s story is everybody’s story, about cause and effect. About conditioning, about life matters and the wars that wage within. Most of all it is a story about choice, and the capacity to change. Or, does Lily leave the key to her happiness, with Bill?

The rather poetic observation, when he watches the snowfall on his 2nd day in Nashville sums up his life philosophy:

“The snowflakes descend slowly, floating in the air, allowing the air current to carry them with it, letting it change their paths. They have chosen not to confront their destiny, choosing instead to enjoy every second of their short lives, their journey to the ground.”

Kindle Book - "Amazon Kindle Kindles a Fire of Creativity" Self Published Author Describes His Success Story

Amazon.com is offering "Amazon Kindle Kindles a Fire of Creativity" for FREE  at Kindle Stores in United States and United Kingdom, Kindle-shop in Germany, Boutique Kindle in France, Tienda Kindle at Amazon EspaƱol and Kindle store in Italy.

In "Amazon Kindle Kindles a fire of creativity", which is at top sales rank in its category at the time of this writing, the author describes how he was inspired by Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing to self publish his stories and his initial success. This book which is written in a humorous style can be downloaded for Free for next 12 hours at Amazon.com.

The latest edition of Kindle (tm), dubbed Kindle Fire is an hybrid eBook and entertainment device rolled in one. Kindle Fire was one of the coolest, most sort after high-tech Christmas gift. Most people look at Kindle(tm) as a device which had simplified reading books, listening to music and with Kindle Fire(tm), watching videos.

But one of the benefit which is frequently overlooked is how Kindle has eliminated the middlemen in the publishing process - Thanks to Kindle Direct Publishing - a gifted author can directly upload a manuscript using Kindle Publishing and voila, a new book is available to readers. By simplifying the publishing process and bringing it to reach of the average user, Amazon Kindle (tm) has revolutionized the process of publishing.

Here is an excerpt from this eBook:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With self-publishing, I get to choose when my books get published. Heck, in ebook format, I even get to choose when it gets republished, in revised format. Amid all this talk about self-published books being poorly edited, the ebook platform actually allows books to be better edited, because they can be modified after the readers (not the editors) have given their feedback.

I get to choose, too, how my books get marketed. Oh yes, contrary to what some writers may think, once you get your book published, you can’t just leave it to fare for itself in the big wide wonderful world. No, you need to help it out, market it, through blog posts, SEO, promotions, etc. It’s just something you gotta learn to do.

By combining Internet marketing with self-publishing, I was able to get my ebook to best-selling status in its category and at the top of the "Hot New Releases" list within a few weeks. As you can see below in the Amazon KDP screen shot, 5,355 copies of my ebook "Inside the Giant Machine: Confessions of aFormer Amazon.com Technologist" were downloaded in the last week of January alone. (Net includes adjustment for any returns.)

My second best-selling ebook, "The Inferno: An Eyewitness Account of San Diego on Fire," was downloaded a net of 1,670 times in that week.

And the above sales are just at the US Kindle Store. Several hundred copies of the English edition were also sold at Kindle Store in UK, and of the German translation  “Im Inneren der Gigantischen Maschine: Eine Amazon.com Story,” at the Kindle-Shop at Amazon.de.

Kindle Romance, Love Comes Later

Love, honor, duty, and passion are all instrumental in forging a bond. But when conflict forces us to choose one above the other, we are face to face with an unrelenting dilemma.

Love ComesLater begins with two cousins engaged to be married. Abdullah, the young widower, wants more than what the elders have decided for him. While his fiancƩe, Hind is seeking a larger life outside the limiting boundary of her arranged marriage. The story is made further interesting when Sangita, an Indian/American Hindu girl who provides friendship to Hind and a complicated, yet blossoming love for Abdulla.

Readers will have a glimpse of the daily lives of the Qatari society, its rich and technologically advanced citizens, placed in paradox by limiting traditions. The reader will feel the dilemma of the two cousins as they deal with the machinations of their families and try to lead their own lives.

This novel by Mohanalakshmi Rajakumar will take you on a trip through shifting scenery of Qatar (where she has resided since 2005) and to London, England. This well written and balanced story will keep you interested and drawn to the possibility that romance can still overrule the agony brought by bigotry and sadness.

Featured Kindle Erotic Romance: Lips, Hips and Fingertips by Jan Lowery

As a mommy, most of my days are spent making meals, cleaning up messes and addressing the needs of my family. After my day is over, I just want to lose myself with a good book and a glass of wine. I love to power up my Kindle and get lost in a book. I found that I love to read Kindle erotica, as it removes me from my daily life and transports me into a world of sensuality and temptation.

While some may make fun of me for reading mommy porn, I don’t mind. I know what I am reading is making me feel as if I am character in the book. One recent Kindle erotica piece that I read was called Lips, Hips and Fingertips by Jan Lowery. This book is about a woman in love, well passionate infatuation, with two men. These two men both please her physically, and she is happily bedding both men.

Unfortunately, even with passionate connection to both men, no triangle can last forever. Raye, the lead character, must decide whom her heart actually belongs to. This book isn’t just mommy porn, but also a traditional romance novel. Every woman knows what it feels to like be wooed and chased. Two men are chasing Raye, and she is stuck in this triangle-not knowing whom to pick.

This book will not only transport you into a world of sex and temptation, it will also make your heart swell. There are very tender romantic moments, mixed amongst the hot and steamy scenes. This book is a wonderful addition to the Kindle erotica world.

Love and the 5 Year Plan, However Love Is Not Logical

You have worked hard all your life—got into a good university, paid your dues and worked your way up the corporate ladder or in a field in which you are passionate about.  You have supportive family and friends and an active social and dating life.  You are finally at a place where you are building a solid foundation for the life you desire—the husband, wife, home, and kids.

While you are out there in the dating world, you may not be ready for the “happily ever after” yet so you create a 5 year plan to make to pay off your student loans, safe for a down payment on your dream home, and achieve a bit more professional success—then you will be ready for love—the only problem is that love in not logical.

When you meet the person—the one who makes your head spin, your knees weak, and your heart race every time they walk in the room, your sturdy 5 year plan may need to be reworked.  This is a common struggle, especially when our head hasn’t come to terms with the place are heart is in; even more so if the one who has swept you off your feet, is not the one you expected you would end up with.

There is a difference between lust and love, but sometimes you find both in the same person.  While this kind of powerful connection can take you by surprise, its undeniable electricity can’t be ignored.

Whether you like it or not, or it is in your 5 year plan or not, love is not logical and can take you by surprise at a moment’s notice.  When love sneaks up in the most unexpected of places you have to determine whether it is a risk worth taking.  Is it worth letting the electricity you feel for someone pass you by because the “time” is not right?  Or because they aren’t who you “see” yourself with?  Is it better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all?  Will you have regrets if you don’t even try?

These are all difficult questions to answer—all of which are explored in the latest novel by author Ju Ephraime “A Wonderful Pieceof Dark Mahogany”.  In this book tells the tale of Melissa and Craig, two successful individuals who had a plan for the next few years of their lives—that is until their paths crossed taking them down an unexpected path of love, passion, and jealousy.

Amazon Kindle the Next Link in the Age of Creativity Fueled by Platforms

Contemporary media—be it books like 1984 or movies like HAL, Terminator or Matrix—has projected our world’s growing use of computer and Internet technology to have disastrous consequences as computer networks take over the world and dehumanize it.

Fortunately, the human race is shaping up quite brightly in light of these technologies– in place of destroying humanity, emotions and creativity, the tools, platforms and applications enabled by ubiquitous connectivity and the cloud have enabled the democratization of human creativity and it’s expression at an unprecedented scale.

First, easy web publishing led to the rise of the home journalist/ eZine publisher via blogs, allowing practically everyone who wanted to share his or her expertise or opinion to do so. Blogs are your personal online portal of verbal expression, where you can share your creative or journalistic writing talent with the world.

The next advent in the acceleration of creative expression via digital platforms was around videos led by YouTube, Vine, and other video sharing websites. These allowed people to share their funny and crazy videos, thoughtful videos, educational videos, music, dances, sketches – allowing connection from the artist to the admirer – be it the rare wildlife caught on camera in “Battle of Krueger” or the bizarre top hit “Gangnam style” or even stranger subject matter where young women post a short video clip of their pretty feet to be admired by thousands of foot lovers with foot fetish.

Apple, followed by Google, fueled creativity among people with some software skill, allowing downloads of cheap apps via their app stores.

And last but not least, eBook publishing platforms, such as Kindle and Nook have given unbounded power to the millions of us who feel we have an interesting story to author, but are too busy to take years of manuscript propositions to high brow editors at established publishing houses only to be rejected. Kindle, Nook and other e-publishing platforms allow pretty much any one with writing talent to share their book with hundreds of millions of readers across the world.

Recently, I stumbled across “Private Emotions” erotic romance trilogy by a new British author Elize Amornette that is an extremely good example of the power of platform. This new author has already won the hearts of thousands of readers across the world, her erotic series both appeals to our emotional side and sensual sides, whetting and fueling our passions.

The author and her series was covered at Boston Globe’s Boston.com news website last month. With her book getting to the coveted top 0.25% sales rank recently, I am sure Elize Amornette is another star in making, powered by the benevolent matrix that connects the creator, the artist, the author with his or her audience. Long live the platforms!

The Causes of Racism

Racism, defined as prejudice or discrimination aimed at an individual of another race or a whole race in general, has brought much depression and hate in our society. You would think that an attitude that is this “primitive” would be gone by now, but no – it is still around, taking many different forms, still in the mind of some people.

What causes this hurtful attitude to form within a person?

  • Ignorance. Ignorance is being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed. Racism stems from ignorance because the person just doesn’t know that what he or she is doing is wrong, probably because the people around him or even the whole society that he grew up in has such an attitude. Ignorance drives racism to be a habit, not just a one-time act.
  • Fear of loss and displacement. When some people encounter people of another race, they become afraid that these people would take over their jobs, territory, status, and even personality. They are threatened that they would be replaced, and so they attack the other person of another race as they believe that doing so help them stay where they are.
  • Lack of self-love and the need to feel superior. The most racist people are those that do not have love for themselves, continuously enveloped by negativity. They pass on their negative feelings to those of other races, which makes them feel superior because they ridicule and insult others based on what they feel they can do better or what others do worse.

Unfortunately, these causes are still prevalent in society. Racism feeds on them and continues to live – though not as outspoken as times past, but certainly no less hurtful or vicious.

“Sister Josephine” by Joanna Traynor is an award-winning story of a strong young woman that is challenged by racism every day of her life – a black girl fostered by a white family, living in a society where she is the only black person. She doesn't know her birth family and doesn't meet anyone else who is black until well into her teenage years. She is neglected but resilient and goes onto become a nurse - a profession that comes with pressure that is difficult for her to bear.

This book, originally published by Bloomsbury, won the Saga Prize in 1997. The Saga Prize was organized by Marsha Hunt, to raise the profile of black British writers. Marsha Hunt's daughter by Mick Jagger lived in England at the time and Marsha realized there were very few books written by black British writers to give to her to read, so she set up a literary competition to find new writers. Joanna Traynor won the second Saga Prize offered and was published by Liz Calder, then the Director of Bloomsbury Publishing.

"Sister Josephine" is current available in Kindle format at Amazon.com. Click on the link to preview the book or download your own copy.

Publisher Denies Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are the Real Voice behind the Pen Name “The Holy Ghost Writer”

The mystery of the author of the three successful books by Holy Ghost Writer remains unsolved.

San Francisco, CA — Illuminated Publications, the publisher of these and other books authored by “Holy Ghost Writer” has issued an official statement denying the famous couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not the “Holy Ghost Writer”, trying to put to rest to growing speculation that the husband / wife team were the real faces behind the “Holy Ghost Writer” - author of several bestselling books such as “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” and “That Girl Started Her Own Country”.

While this official clarification should put rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to rest, it re-opens the mystery behind who is the real person behind the intriguing pen name. The Holy Ghost Writer has been compared to several famous authors for his works. He has been heralded as the new Stieg Larrson for “That Girl Started Her Own Country”, the successor of Alexander Dumas for “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” and the next Ray Bradbury for “The Boy Who Played with Dark Matter”.

Each of these books are said to have clues that will point you to the identity of the true author, but more than a year after the first release the identity still alludes the masses.

While the ongoing mystery of the true identity of the Holy Ghost Writer is still waiting to be solved the undisputable fact remains—the literature is a true act of literary genius.  Each book in this series has received critical acclaim.

For added mystery, the books in the series have not been released in chronological order.  The first two books published in the series “The Count of Monte Cristo” and “The Sultan of Monte Cristo” are set in the past; but these two were followed by the 6th book in the series “The Girl Who Started Her Own Country” set in present day, and the next one published is the 11th book in the series “The Boy Who Played With Dark Matter” set in year 2099. It’s like the author is uncovering the pieces of a giant puzzle in random order.

While the clarification of Illuminated Publications should put rumors about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to be the real face of Holy Ghost Writer to rest, it re-opens the mystery behind who is the real person behind the mysterious author. As for all the writer’s followers and fans, reading through his books and piecing together the clues that he has left behind is all that can be done for now.

Does the Circle of Life Only Apply To Wildlife?

When we talk about animals that live in the wild we often talk about the circle of life and how each animal lives in a habitat they were designed specifically to thrive in.  For example you would not find a lion at the North Pole or a Polar Bear in the jungle.

I am sure you have heard stories of animals in the wild that learn to adapt to their changing habitats to survive or become endangered species because they are not able to find a way to adapt to the changes in today’s world—survival of the fittest.

For humans it is far easier for us to adapt to different environments from one continent to the next.  However what began as simple advances to make our environments easier to adapt to has turned into a never-ending need for comfort and luxury.  However, the lifestyles and habits that epitomize ultimate luxury and comfort come at a high financial cost, and more importantly a high natural resource cost.

To make more room for the rapidly expanding population we cut down our forests, to grow less expensive produce we over process our crops and ruin our soil, to power our factories we emit harmful toxins into the air, and for convenience we dump waste into our bodies of water contaminating it to the extent that we are killing sea life.

Most human beings seem to fully comprehend (if not feel compassion) for animals that go extinct or that are struggling to survive in their deteriorating natural habitats, but too many of us are not able to draw the link to what we have in common with these struggling animals—humans will all too soon be struggling along with wildlife.

The modern need for comfort and luxury has us destroying irreplaceable natural resources that supply us with our basic needs—air, water, and food.  As we continue to take from Mother Earth for our luxury and convenience we further destroy the habitats of wildlife.  As these unnatural habitats continue to decline we continue to throw the circle of life off balance.

It is easy to think of animals going extinct but as we continue to destroy nature the animals that will be struggling to survive won’t be wildlife but walking, talking, and thinking mammals—human beings.

To explore our connection to nature and to challenge your thought process of “want vs. need” you can read the beautifully depicted fictional tale My Green Friend Amay.  This is the first in a four part series that provides readers with a poignant and thought provoking story delivered in a relaxed and charming manner.  While the principals within this series are quite deep they are unveiled in the pages of the story of a young girl named Dawna who grew up in a world quite different from the one we live in today.

Does Everything Really Happen For A Reason?

“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”  Marilyn Monroe

Everything happens for a reason.”  This phrase is often used as motivation to inspire us to keep moving forward in challenging times or to celebrate leaving behind a trying time.  There are times in our life where we can clearly look back at the simple ripple that sparked an ocean of change that has lead us to a more positive place—even the ripples that began from a negative encounter.

Maybe the unhealthy relationship you were in promoted you to move for the job in a new city where you met the love of your life.  Or maybe the patience you developed growing up with your sister with the excessive need for attention gave you the skillset to require for professional patience.

Sometimes we are clearly able to see how negative and frustrating circumstances created a chain of events that lead to a positive outcome, but sometimes the negativity doesn’t seem to be connected to anything more than more negativity.

How is there value in growing up with parents that have an abusive relationship?  How did growing up in a single parent home benefit you?  Wouldn’t you have a happier life if you didn’t feel like your parents favored your brother more than you?

We can’t change someone else, but we can change how we respond to the negative people in our lives and we can change the direction we take our lives.  If you are ready to let go and change the things you can the book “Branches From the Same Tree WhetherBroken or Reaching” is the perfect place to start.

Mommy Porn: eBook Proliferation Leads to Rise of a New Genre

Although the erotic romance genre has been around for a while, the category seems to have picked up in recent years with the advent of ebook technology. The best part about today’s EE romances i.e. electronic erotic romances is that one can enjoy them without having to endure the cashier's smirks at the bookstore or the uncomplimentary furtive glances of your fellow commuters at your book’s adults-only cover. Even the sauciest, steamiest, and most sensual novels with high-resolution imagery can be downloaded in the privacy of your ebook reader in the middle of a crowd, with no one noticing anything – unless, of course, you react to the titillating words and have an orgasm right there on the moving train.

Interestingly, some of the hottest erotic romances that are making waves these days are coming from some very talented new authors. These aren't your conventional bodice-ripper paperbacks; neither are they "50 Shades of Grey," with its somewhat cringe-worthy BDSM scenes and degrading slave contracts. The newest sensual romances are tender, sweet, and yet sexy enough to earn the dubious classification of mommy porn.

Yes, hot and sexy is the popular sentiment among today’s erotic romance writers. The hotter and sexier, the better.

This summer, the rise in ambient temperature is matched by the sizzling-hot-and-sexy newly released romance series
Private Emotions, written by the up-and-coming British author Elize Amornette.

The series opens with "Appointments," where we get to know young Emily Harris, who starts a chain reaction when she meets her best friend for coffee. That innocent meeting with a friend leads to series of events resulting in her being engulfed in a haze of love, romance, and sexual discovery with Ethan Sterling.

Emily’s trust in Ethan finally gives her the courage to break free from the chains that have suppressed her sexually all her life – but at what cost?  In Book 2, "Invitations," young Emily has fallen madly in love with Ethan but is forced to confront her inhibitions again and again, as Ethan continues to push beyond her boundaries.

In Book 3, "Promises," it appears that Emily has finally found her zone of comfort. She now feels confident that there are no surprises left, sexual or otherwise, with Ethan. How solid and unshakeable is her newfound confidence? Will Ethan be able to still surprise her nonetheless?

A delightfully sexy and sensual series, the Private Emotions trilogy is a thoroughly engrossing read. The story is well written, with engaging characters and a lively plot that propels you to the end as if there will be no 6 a.m. alarm in the morning.

The Kindle and print editions of the Private Emotions series are available at
Amazon.com,  Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon India, and other national Amazon sites.
