Phantom Dreams: a Paranormal Thriller with a Special Appeal to Female Readers

“Phantom Dreams” a recently published paranormal thriller by an up and coming author by T. K. Harris is paranormal mystery novel with a special twist - in addition to the usual serial killer, FBI agents and unsolved murders, we get a glimpse into the life of a woman trying to balance her work with her role as care giver for her ailing father while dealing with her paranormal "gift" or curse, since she can witness murders in her dreams. the central character of the book is Kathy Gilliam, a 28 year old woman who sees excruciating details of murders in her dreams, or rather, her nightmares, since the dreams are filled with pain and death. Kathy, the woman who gets these vivid and frightening nightmares, seeks psychiatric treatment. Then, based on the suggestions of her health provider, she writes down the details of her dreams. After she confides in her close friend, she realizes that the murders she sees in her dreams were real-life murders. Somehow, her paranormal abilities allowed her to see those gruesome killings as dreams. In the book, when Kathy approached the authorities, she was at first written off as an eccentric person seeking attention. But later, when the FBI realized that Kathy knows intimate details which were not disclosed to the public, they started suspecting her. However, they also realized that Kathy matches the height, age, and features of the women who were killed – and they wonder if she was to be the next victim. The story ends with a surprise twist, a satisfying dramatic ending. Like some of the other successful paranormal media productions (such as the hit TV series “Medium”), “Phantom Dreams” spends as much energy on describing Kathy’s exhaustion about her dual role as a caregiver of her ailing father and her work as it does over describing the gory details of the murders and mayhem. I believe most women readers can relate to the stress resulting from trying to find the balance between their work and their role as caregivers, whether they see it in Kathy, the single 29-year-old in “Phantom Dreams” who takes care of her father while also dealing with tons of issues at work, or in Alison Dubois, a married woman who attempts to balance family life with helping the police in solving mysteries using her special gift in the hit TV series “Medium.”

Futuristic Erotic Sci-Fi Romance Novel “Perfect Heat” Takes Readers On An Erotic Adventure—Leaving You Wanting More

What would you do if you only had three days to spend with the love or your life?

NATIONWIDE, July 16, 2013—Husband and wife writing team Lisa and Daniel Nash take their readers on an erotic adventure with their latest book “Perfect Heat.” While most erotic novels take readers on a journey in the present time, this futuristic novel takes place in a world where bio-synthetic humanoids are custom made as your perfect lover—there is only one catch their “lifecycle” is only a short 72 hours.

The book focuses on main character Thomas Miller who accepts a position as a Decommission Agent for the fictional Grant Bio-Synthetic Industries. This revolutionary company holds over 22,000 manufacturing patents, many of which are related to their biosynthetic humanoids that they supply to the mental health industry. Their humanoids look, feel, and sound exactly like a human being, but they have a bio-engineered immune system that only allows them 3 days of life.

While at first Thomas doesn’t really buy they hype, everything changes when he meets Cora—the humanoid that changes everything. Cora is all Thomas has ever wished and dreamed for, and much more. She is perfect for him in every way and their sexual compatibility is beyond his wildest dreams. Within only a few days Thomas realizes he has fallen in deep, illogical, unexplainable, yet undeniable love.

This exhilarating erotic novel is filled with steamy love scenes, yet presents readers with a solid plot as it tackles the moral dilemma that arise with the creation of short lifecycle humanoids designed explicitly for sexual exploitation. Readers will be taken on both and erotic adventure, as well as an adventure that uncovers corruption, secrets, lies, and cover-ups.

“This book challenges readers to question the difference between want and need, love and lust. It explores the lengths ones will go to when time is limited, and the heart is not ready to let go.”

For readers who enjoy erotic novels with a complex and intellectually stimulating plot line “Perfect Heat” is the complete package. Readers will enjoy a fun filled erotic adventure, and will ban together with Thomas as he races against the clock to save the love of his life before her bio-engineered immune system fails and he loses the one woman he was meant for.

Why Do We Believe in Monsters?

Monsters have always been a part of pop culture. Ranging from the cute, cuddly ones to the downright scary and vicious ones, monsters have been a part of literature, TV shows and movies for as long as we can remember.

The thought of these fantastic creatures sound absurd some of the time. 10-foot-tall giants? Blood-sucking fiends? Elusive sea beasts? Any one in their right mind would dismiss these thoughts as pure fiction. And yet, belief in Big Foot, vampires and the Loch Ness monster still exist today.

If we don’t have an inkling of belief in these monsters, then they would have already been forgotten by now. And yet, here they are, still at the back of the people’s minds. Why do we believe in them?

  • Prevalence in media. It’s pretty hard to forget about some things when you see them all the time. And with the recent popularity of vampires and werewolves, among others, it looks like this trend won’t be going away any time soon. Media embeds thoughts of these monsters in you, making sure that they exist – even just in your mind.
  • Presence of evidence. People believe that these monsters exist because there has been evidence on them. Pictures, videos, real-life experiences – these do the opposite of dispelling the myths of these monsters. And, of course, the media always gets their hands on these evidences to show to the world.
  • Unexplainable events. Sometimes, it is easier to just pin the blame for unexplainable events on monsters. Dead goats? The chupacabra did it. Dead cows? Werewolves did it. Sudden waves in a still lake? It’s the Loch Ness monster.

Monsters will always exist – and people will always believe in them – as long as they are in our heads, whether they are real or not.

“Primal Creatures” by Eric Wilder features a specific type of monster – the rougarou, a kind of werewolf that is popular in Cajun folklore, said to be living in the swamps of Louisiana. People believe in it for the exact reasons stated above, and this book gruesomely brings the legend to life.

“Primal Creatures” is currently available in Kindle format at Amazon.com.

How to borrow a Kindle ebook

If you meet the above eligibility criteria, then you’re all set to borrow a book (such as “Artificial Imagination” or “Seattle Memoirs,” both by Kalpanik S.) for your Kindle e-book reader, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Fire, or Kindle Fire HD device.
